The Conventions of Thrillers - Dramatic Sound

The convention that is used most often in thrillers is Dramatic Sound this is when sound and music is used to play with the audiences emotions, to make them feel on edge, calmed, scared, excited when directors want them too. This is done in Psycho when audiences are made to relate the music with something bad that is going to happen. So the moment the music begins to play they automatically know that there is going to be another murder
